Virginia’s Historic Backlot

My friend and former colleague, Sarah Hauser, is the staff photographer for Virginia Tourism Corporation. She travels around the state, waking at pre-dawn hours to shoot glorious mountain and beach sunrises, sips craft beer and wine for the sake of a potential Virginia Travel Guide cover shot, and sometimes ventures into places where common folk do not have access.

Sarah writes in her “Playing a Pirate” blog post from June 2015 about a cold March 2012 adventure into the State Farm backlot outside of Richmond. There she found familiar scenes from HBO’s “John Adams,” Spielberg’s “LINCOLN,” AMC’s “TURN,” and Wallace’s “Point of Honor.”

Take a look at the backlot through her camera lens.
